Mitsubishi's Latest LED Display Sets a New Benchmark for Performance.
Mitsubishi will introduce its Diamond VisionTM AVL-IDT4 high resolution LED screen to AV System Integrators and Rental companies at ISE 2007. Now available commercially in Europe for the first time, the IDT4 represents a dramatic step forward in indoor LED screen performance and is perfect for use in close-viewed applications, such as corporate installations, point of information, advertising, television and demanding rental applications.
IDT4 features 3-in-1 LEDs at a true 4.00mm pitch, delivering a physical resolution of 62,487 pixels per square metre. As result of this high-resolution performance, minimum viewing distances are reduced to just 1 metre. At only 768 x 512 x 200mm and 28 kilos in weight, each module is easy to handle and to install. Diamond Vision's unique mechanical design means that screen can be assembled quickly and easily, with none of the alignment problems sometimes found with other high-resolution LED screen systems.
The contrast performance of Diamond Vision IDT4 is the best yet achieved by Mitsubishi: Blacks are truly jet black, and images are truly stunning, even in high ambient light conditions such as those found in public spaces, exhibition halls, TV studios and stage productions. The screen refresh rate of 800Hz all but eliminates the problems of screen moiré in TV or film applications and provides a stable, flicker-free image of superb quality. Mitsubishi's unique Colour Space Conversion - which allows chromaticity and luminance to be adjusted independently - provides excellent, natural colour rendition, which combines with the high image resolution to stunning effect.
New technology employed in IDT4 allows individual lighting units and LED chips to be adjusted to an extremely fine tolerance, meaning that IDT4 modules can be harmonised to create exceptional screen uniformity, even using modules of differing age. This is of significant benefit to rental companies, allowing their own inventories to be mixed with dry-hired equipment and yet still deliver a high degree of screen uniformity.
The compact physical size of the IDT4 modules is complemented by a new design ground support system which makes the accurate rigging of IDT4 modules quick and easy - perfect for rental applications. Built-in cable management means no unsightly and hazardous "bird's nest" of cabling behind the screen for a truly professional rig.
Mitsubishi Electric was the pioneer in LED screen technology, and is the only one of those early manufacturers to still be producing screens today. In that time, the company has amassed an unrivalled experience of LED screen applications and a true appreciation of the needs of customers within the rental, event production and installation industries. IDT4 represents the culmination of that experience. Visitors to ISE 2007 will be able to see IDT4 in action on the Mitsubishi stand at A10.
